Hi,

Just downloaded Crux 1.3 ppc iso, burned it onto cd, and tried booting from it.
After booting (tried with both CRUX and CRUX-SAFE) I get to the login, whereupon everything stops. The cursor blinks, but no matter what i type in, nothing registers. I'm guessing that this might be a keyboard problem as there's absolutely no input; I'm using a standard mac usb keyboard.

Anyone else had such a problem?

On a Graphite G3 600mhz iMac.

TIA

John

Probably an error in the bootkernel config file. The problem is already known, can you see the messages from usb-ohci module during the cd boot?

If not, the usb-ohci module is not loaded.
I think that a new bootkernel is needed. I will release a 1.3.1 version of CRUX PPC with a modified bootkernel.

The 1.1+ cd does not have this problem, sorry :(

I have the same problem on my iMacDV 400MHz. I didn't see messages from usb-ohci during boot, though i did see some from hid version 1.8.1 if that helps. When will CRUX PPC 1.3.1 be available?

really sorry for that problem guys :(

the rc2 of 1.3.1 is ready, works well on Apple's hardware and the keyboard problem is solved, but should be tested on Pegasos too... i hope that 1.3.1 official release will be released for 20 february, but if you want i can make available the rc2 today!

regards

It would be great if you could release the rc2 of 1.3.1

sorry people, i'm still working on the rc2 iso image, but the rc1 is available here (temporary location!):

link removed, see the http://cruxppc.sunsite.dk/download.html page instead

little problem in rc1, use "sh /usr/bin/setup" instead of "/usr/bin/setup" to launch the setup script.
note that the rc2 will be available tomorrow and contains some new packages, but you can update the packages on the rc1 too via ports system.

the links are temporary, when the official 1.3.1 will be released the rc1 (and rc2) wil be deleted

sorry for that keyboard problem :(
