great job! :)
upgraded from the previous -pre and everything runs smoothly!

I'm working on the 64bit x-toolchain, it might be ready soon and it will probably be more cleand than in previous releases. This thanks to this excellent toolchain and to the unification of the ppc and ppc64 arch branches that are now merged in the single powerpc arch in the kernel sources :) :D

No it cannot, but as far as usually you don't directly boot on efika (unless you have an usb cdrom), you can boot from the ready-to-use archive on usb drive, chroot to the iso and run setup on it... or you can tftp boot the kernel of a previous release and install from the nfs-exported iso... or again you can install old release and then pkgadd -f -u all the packages...
Fantasy is the only limit to the many ways you can install it on efika. A new ready-to-use image will be ready soon, but please be patient as we have some more urgent issues to solve before that.

enjoy

here a new release:

(324335616)
(62)

it is a generic pmac32 and pegasos2 (radeonfb enabled and without DTS fw patch) bootkernel (2.6.23.9)

known issue:
Code:
1) xorg-1.4.0 wrapper doesn't find videocards on PCI bus (PCI domain broken on powerpc arch)
2) the CRUX PPC handbook here included is too old (it's from 2.2 release)

Any ETA?

I'd like to test this as soon as possible for EFIKA.

Thanks.

in the next couple of days i'll prepare another 2.4pre with EFIKA kernel too.

We must delay RC1 release 'cause our server (where we are going to create new git server) it's down.

We are working on our new host (crux.it) to activate CRUX PPC 2.4 git repository (the old one still remain on sunsite.dk).

Btw, as promised i prepaired a -pre9 in 28 Dec 2007, but it seems there is a little issue during setup process. Then, I must investigate to fix it.

just now prepaired a new iso.

(325920768)
(71)

it is a generic pmac32, efika and pegasos2 (radeonfb enabled and without DTS fw patch) bootkernel (2.6.23.14)

some notes:
Code:
1) handbook updated
2) setup fixed
3) xorg-server-1.4.0.90 wrapper doesn't find videocards on PCI bus (PCI domain broken on powerpc arch) then if needed you must download and upgrade with this [1]
4) packages updated to 17/01/2008

I will try to integrate a sam440ep bootkernel in this very same iso tomorrow.
I hope someone will try it and report whether it boots...
